Socrates was once asked by one of his disciples:

"Why is it,sir,that you tell everybody, who wants to become your disciple,to look into this pond here and tell you what he sees?"

That is very simple ,my friend ",answered the sage."I am ready to accept all those who tell me they see the fish swimming around.But those who see only their own image mirrored in the water are in love with their ego.I have no use for them."

फूलों की खुशबू ही नहीं,

काँटों की चुभन भी है जिंदगी,

सुबह का उजाला ही नहीं,

रात का अँधेरा भी है जिंदगी,

खुशियों का नगमा ही नहीं,

ग़मों की ग़ज़ल भी है जिंदगी,

जवानी की बहार ही नहीं,

बुडापे का पतझड़ भी है जिंदगी,

अरमानों का आकाश ही नहीं,

हकीक़त की ज़मीन भी है जिंदगी|
